There will be an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Wem Angling Club held on Thursday 6 April 2017 in the Wem Conservative Club commencing at 7.30pm. All members are invited to attend. The meeting has been called by the Committee to consider two proposals for changes to the Club Constitution.
PROPOSAL ONE
Rule 19 currently states:
“Associate Membership is limited to 100 of whom up to 10 may be at concessionary rates.”
It is proposed to change this to read:
“Associate Membership is limited to 100.”
This change is proposed and seconded by the Committee.
PROPOSAL TWO
Rule 40 currently states:
“Trustees. Eight responsible persons may be nominated from volunteers prepared to undertake the duties of Trustees of the Club. Trustees are responsible for overseeing the general and financial welfare of the club and will be expected and prepared to stand guarantors for any financial transactions undertaken by the club. Trustees will come up for re-election using a rolling system, with the two longest serving members stepping down and being replaced or re-elected after an agreed period of time, normally four years.”
It is proposed to change this to read:
“The President, Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary shall act as Trustees of the Club while in office. Their responsibilities as Trustees are limited solely to those required for Land Registry and Land Deed purposes.”
This change is proposed and seconded by the Committee.
There is no ‘Any Other Business’
Members are reminded that while they are all welcome to attend the meeting only local members, other than juniors, may vote. Also, voting is by show of cards only.
